Liked the almost art-deco style of room 424. A good sized room with plenty of storage facilities. Appreciated the fridge in which we could have stored drinks etc including the free water. Bed was probably one of the most comfy I have slept in. Thought the box containing the folder with information about the hotel was classy and added to the ambiance of the hotel. The size of the bathroom was also a pleasant surprise. I appreciated the quality of the toiletries - Molton Brown is a classic. Thought the decor was also pleasing - especially the print above the cistern. We both also appreciated the chilled water on tap in reception. Just did not have time to get the benefit of the hot beverages which seemed to be available first thing in the morning. The aesthetics of the hotel are charming and surely a gem of Historic American hotels. For a couple who do a lot of walking it could have been nearer Dupont Circle but saying that it was only a 5 minute walk or so. If we had been staying longer we would have had more chance to explore the surrounding streets which seem to be pleasing on the eye too. A lovely neighbourhood. Can recommend.

Places to stay near downtown Washington are not cheap and this is at the cheaper end. However it is outstanding and I really enjoyed staying for 3 nights. The availability of a free coffee in the morning in the lobby was great (yes there is machine in the room but who wants to bother?). If you are on a city visit then access to Downtown (including National Mall etc) is brilliant. 2 stops on the Red Line from Metro Centre to Dupont Circle then either a short walk ( a bit uphill) or very quick bus ride from the stop near the station near Kramer's bookstore. Was it the 42 or 43? You'll soon find out. I used the bus just once as wasn't sure of distance when I arrived. There is dining at the hotel but I didn't use. There is also dining en route from DuPont Circle to the hotel if you want something local. I rarely stay at places I would 'book again'. This I would without doubt.

Amazing hotel, with great facilities, a very nice and spacious room with a great view, and great and friendly staff! I booked a room there because I had a conference at the Hilton hotel across the street and I thought that Churchill offered very competitive prices. I was so glad to choose Churchill for this reason. It's literally across the street from Hilton, has a great view, and nothing missing from the Hilton across the street. It's also in a great location to see Kalorama and Dupond Circle around. I loved the experience and would suggest this to anybody.

I was traveling solo for 2 nights, so preferred to stay at the hotel in the evenings. I went to the Bar on both nights and Amari the Bartender was just wonderful, very friendly and I enjoyed my time there. He is a credit to the Hotel. The Reception staff were great too, printing out documents for me. The beds were really comfortable. Just wish there had been a kettle in the room for tea. Wonderful hotel.

The staff were friendly and professional, the room was well maintained and comfortable. Atmosphere was just right. The proximity to the business areas and meetings location was very adequate. Metro is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The bus stop is just around the corner.
